We are seeking a mechanical fitter to work in a small projects team based in North London. This is a permanent position with a guarantied 40 hours per week with overtime, working as part of a multi skilled team dealing with small projects including mechanical installations with pumps and valves, mechanical plant, pipe work alterations to full refrubishments.

You will need to be fully qualified or time severed, apprentice trained, with City & Guilds, have a minimum of 5 years experience working as a mechanical fitter within commercial installations.

This position would ideally suit some suit someone who likes the stability and security of a permanent job whist still being involved in project work. You will ideally live in or around the North London Area.

This position comes with a Salary of £28,000 - £30,000

Originally starting out as an energy management firm in 1966 and later moved into the HVAC maintenance field. Our client has won numerous maintenance contracts in recent years including one of the world`s largest telecommunications firms, a national rail contract and several major retail organisations in addition to more conventional commercial buildings. Your core responsibilities will be to work on a reactive basis, performing fault-finding and servicing duties to HVAC plant that will include ventilation plant, general power and lighting maintenance and also some heating plant. It is imperative that applicants have experience of working within a maintenance background and a developed understanding of pumps, valves, motors, single and three-phase power, air handling units/fan coil units (including associated controls/sensors), emergency lighting/fire alarms/sprinkler testing, using BMS for detecting faults and changing set points etc.

As part of the North West England team, you will be covering local commercial properties in an area that includes Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria, West Yorkshire, Wrexham and Derbyshire. It is important to note that you will not be responsible for all of the areas listed above but only those that are reasonable for you to cover.

Due to changes in the structure of this large building services company, they are looking to expand their services. This will involve the recruitment of three experienced Chiller engineers looking at the planned maintenance for the new specialist Air Conditioning division for a diverse and expanding section of an already well-established portfolio of clients.

The successful candidate must have previous hands on experience of carrying out the planned and reactive maintenance to large commercial and industrial chillers from all manufacturers, including compressor repairs to reciprocating, screw and rotary types and mechanical strip-down. Engineers must also have an extensive working knowledge of the full spectrum of systems concentrating on the chiller, larger end of the market, there will also be involvement in some small end of the market.

This role involves the preventative maintenance and service to Chillers on a mobile basis. This is the way of the future where large maintenance service providers will no longer outsource the Chiller maintenance but have their own teams. This view has also extended to the service of Burners and boilers and this company are also setting up a team to deal with this section.
